ST. PETERSBURG -- The Tampa Bay Rays took over sole possession of first place Thursday night, and all it took was a little offense from David DeJesus and a lot of pitching.

DeJesus, the Rays hottest hitter, drove in two runs and five pitchers combined to shutout the Oakland A’s 3-0 in front of 10,605 at Tropicana Field.

Alex Colome pitched the first five innings to earn his third win of the season.

DeJesus drove in two runs, one with his fourth homer of the season, and Brad Boxberger improved to 12-for-12 in save opportunities.
