In a surprise move, the Rays activated Brandon Lowe prior to today’s game. In a corresponding move, Kean Wong was designated for assignment.
Lowe has not played since July 2nd, when he was slashing .276/.339/.523. The Rays wasted no time in getting the lefty into the starting lineup.
Wong, the long suffering Rays prospect who twice cleated Rule 5, finally got his shot this September, going 3 for 14 in six games.
