- Drew Smyly tied the Rays record for most September strikeouts (45) by a Rays pitcher. The record was held by Scott Kazmir, and now ol' Smyly is a part of that too. It always baffles me that somewhere, in some faraway land, there is a fella whose job it is to curate these obscure stats in whatever capacity. Someone maintains the computer that keeps all of this together.
