Rays 4, Orioles 9: Granny Machado

When you outhit the other guys fifteen to ten, you don’t typically expect to lose a lopsided game. But that’s what happened tonight in Baltimore, where the Orioles downed the Rays 9-4 behind a solid start by Kevin Gausman, some nifty defense, some well-timed bombs, and with a big assist by a Rays offense that couldn’t find the big hit when they needed it.

The Rays put on baserunners in every inning but the second. Joey Wendle broke up the no-hitter with two outs in the first before he was stranded.
