Welcome back to the first full week of the second half, during which the Rays are somehow STILL playing the Yankees. Today’s matchup was Zack Littell against Carlos Rodon, so let’s see how the afternoon series matchup in the Bronx went.
Rays went 1-2-3 to start the first, and the Yankees did the same in the home half.
The Rays’s only baserunner in the second was a Brandon Lowe walk. Unfortunately, the Yankees really got themselves going in the bottom of the second. Austin Wells homered, then Anthony Volpe homered right after him. Alex Verdugo walked, but only the two solo shots scored.
