Rays 1, Orioles 17: Way to ruin Mother’s Day, ya jerks

Typically, Mother’s Day Baseball is one of my top-tier favorite days of the baseball season, along with Opening Day, Jackie Robinson Day, and Game 162.

I love the pink bat aesthetic, but for me it’s all about honoring my own mother, who is the reason I am such a baseball diehard. An over-the-top seamhead herself, my mother can still recite the starting lineup for the 1974 Boston Red Sox without missing a beat. She watches I’d say 160 of the 162 Red Sox games each season, and she, along with my father, got me obsessed with the sport at a young age.
