ST. PETERSBURG -- Nick Ciuffo recorded his first Major League hit Wednesday night in Toronto. On Friday night, the rookie catcher stepped up his game, hitting his first Major League home run.
Ciuffo's homer came in the second inning with two aboard off Orioles starter Dylan Bundy, staking the Rays to a 3-0 lead.
Ciuffo, whom the Rays brought up Monday, has had a whirlwind year, starting at last year's Winter Meetings when the Rays gambled by not protecting their first pick of the 2013 Draft.
