The Rays announced the following roster moves this morning, finalizing the 30-man roster for 2020:
- Optioned INF Daniel Robertson to the alternate training site
- Assigned OF Randy Arozarena to the alternate training site and placed him on the injured list
- Assigned LHP Anthony Banda, 1B/3B Nate Lowe and LHP/1B Brendan McKay to the alternate training site
- Recalled INF/OF Mike Brosseau and RHP Trevor Richards to the active roster
- Selected RHP Ryan Thompson to the major league roster
The biggest surprises on the day is the Rays choosing Mike Brosseau, who is noted as capable as covering outfield positions, over pure infielder Daniel Robertson for the bench, and the assignment of McKay to the alternate site without a placement on the injured list.
