Tampa Bay Rays utility man Steve Pearce made a loud return from the DL last night, going 2-for-5 with a home run in the Rays' 10-1 win over the Colorado Rockies. Now that Pearce is back in the lineup, he could be a trade option.
Yahoo Sports columnist Jeff Passan tweeted that not only is there interest in Pearce but that the Rays have made him available.
Total under-the-radar impact bat who's versatile, available and drawing interest: Steve Pearce, fresh off the DL and hitting .322/.390/.552.
The Rays inked Pearce, 33, to a one-year deal during the offseason after he struggled with the Baltimore Orioles last year.
