The Washington Nationals have been mentioned as a plausible suitor for Tampa Bay Rays closer Alex Colome, but Washington has no intention of including top outfield prospect Victor Robles in any possible deal, reports Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports.
Heyman says Colome, who had 37 saves in 2016, "has the potential to become a big trade target" for any team searching for a closer.
Colome, who turned 28 on New Year’s Eve, emerged as the Rays' ninth-inning option last season with a 1.91 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in 57 appearances.
