ST. PETERSBURG — Military personnel and veterans will be able to attend Tampa Bay Rays games for free for the rest of the 2015 season under a new program the team launched today.
Under the Rays Honor Pass program, active servicemen and woman and retired or honorably discharged veterans will be eligible for two free tickets to Rays home games. The offer also applies to dependents of military personnel who have a valid dependent ID.
The program will begin in earnest with next Friday’s home stretch against the Baltimore Orioles.
The move comes as the team is averaging about 14,500 for home games and is on track for their lowest crowds since their days as the Devil Rays.
