Marc Topkin’s takeaways from Rays’ 3-1 Friday win over Jays

• Tommy Pham continues to make his job an adventure. He had to sweat out a replay challenge for seeming to come off the base after stealing second, then he knocked Freddy Galvis’ hit into the stands in leftfield, but the umps sent the runner who scored back to third.

• Friday was the ninth anniversary of Matt Garza’s 2010 no-hitter, the only one thrown by a Ray, and Diego Castillo and Ryan Yarbrough kept the easy story line alive two outs into the fourth before allowing the Jays first hit.

• The Rays continue to trust reliever Chaz Roe, and he continues to make their stomachs churn.
