Kiermaier's highlight-reel grab backs Archer

ST. PETERSBURG -- Kevin Kiermaier has always been able to cover a lot of ground.

But in the sixth inning of the Rays' contest vs. the Tigers on Wednesday, Tampa Bay's center fielder ran a long way after a deep fly ball off the bat of Detroit catcher James McCann to keep Chris Archer's bid for a perfect game alive.

After tracking the ball to the warning track, Kiermaier leapt, then after getting fully extended, he snagged the ball before crashing into the wall.

Archer's perfect-game bid ended an inning later when Tigers shortstop Jose Iglesias hit an infield single with one away in the seventh.
