ARLINGTON -- "The Outlaw" robbed two runs from the Rangers on Friday night at Globe Life Park.
Kevin Kiermaier's theft took place in the fifth inning, when he stole a two-run homer from Prince Fielder to preserve a 3-2 Rays lead.
Rays starter Nathan Karns issued a two-out walk to Shin-Soo Choo, prompting Rays manager Kevin Cash to bring in Xavier Cedeno to face Fielder.
The dependable left-handed specialist got ahead 0-2 before Fielder rerouted an 89-mph fastball toward center field.
Kiermaier raced to the wall and leaped at the last instant to make the catch and deprive Fielder of his 18th home run of the season.
