With the Rays nursing a 2-1 lead and runners on first and second with two outs, Ichiro Suzuki hit a single up the middle. Kiermaier charged hard, and with the momentum of his body behind the throw, delivered his signature slice perfectly to home plate to nail the runner, end the inning, and keep the Rays in front.
MLB later unleashed their StatCast on the throw and determined the ball reached 100 mph just out of the hand of Kiermaier.
