Jake McGee to have surgery on his knee, will be out 6-8 weeks

More bad news for the Rays as they announced today that Jake McGee will need arthroscopic surgery on his knee as he was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Here is the statement from the Rays:

“Following an MRI this morning and examination by Dr. Koco Eaton in St. Petersburg, Rays left-handed relief pitcher Jake McGee was diagnosed with a torn meniscus in his left knee. He is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery tomorrow and is expected to miss 6-to-8 weeks. McGee was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to Aug.
