ST. PETERSBURG -- Closer Brad Boxberger and starting pitcher Chase Whitley will make rehab appearances for Class A Advanced Charlotte on Monday. Infielder Steve Pearce will also likely be continuing his rehab on Monday.
Boxberger, who led the American League with 41 saves and was an All-Star in 2015, has made only one appearance in '16.
He missed the first 49 games of the season, following adductor surgery. Then, when he pitched his first game on June 1, he strained his oblique. There is no specific timetable for his return.
Whitley, who was claimed off waivers by the Rays in November, hasn't pitched since undergoing Tommy John surgery in May 2015.
