Cliff Floyd, whose 17-year major-league career included one memorable season in Tampa Bay, asked Kevin Kiermaier how things were going now that Kiermaier was a Platinum Glove center fielder. Was he enjoying he new-found fame that accompanied his breakout season?
“Yeah, it can be tough at times,” Kiermaier admitted.
“You want to know how to stop that? Be bad. Be awful,” Floyd said. “Then people won’t talk to you.”
Then Floyd said, “Enjoy it. This is what you played for your whole life.
