TORONTO — The Rays received another outstanding effort from a starting pitcher Monday night as Jake Odorizzi held Toronto’s high-powered offense in check in a 2-1 victory at Rogers Centre.
Brad Boxberger pitched the ninth inning for his third save of the season.
Catcher Rene Rivera helped out Boxberger when he threw out Jose Bautista trying to steal second for the second out of the inning, and Steven Souza Jr. caught Josh Donaldson’s drive at the wall down the right-field line for the final out.
The Rays, winners of three straight, moved above .500 for the first time this season.
