Former Rays reliever Danny Farquhar, who spent the start of the 2017 campaign in Tampa Bay, is currently in critical condition after suffering a brain hemorrhage in the White Sox dugout on Friday evening.
At the time it was unclear what had happened to Farquhar, who passed out during the sixth inning of a game against the Houston Astros, but the White Sox released an official statement about his condition and the cause of it today.
James Shields, a former Ray himself and current White Sox battery-mate with Farquhar, summed up the team’s feelings with a somber statement on Saturday, “It crushes us in this clubhouse.
