The Rays are looking to take the deciding game of the three-game series against the Rangers in today's 1:10 matinee.
RHP Jake Faria, another of the starters the Rays need to get more out of, will be on the mound for the Rays. He will face veteran lefty Cole Hamels.
Faria is coming off a much-improved outing against the Phillies, allowing just one run on two hits over 5 1/3, with two walks and seven Ks. In his previous outing in Boston, he lasted only 1 2/3 and walked five in allowing eight runs.
The Rays have lost five of their last six, and 13 of 17 overall, matching the 2001 Devil Rays for the worst 17-game start in franchise history.
