NEW YORK -- Imagine how good Nathan Eovaldi could be when he really gets going.
The Rays right-hander, who returned in May after a second Tommy John surgery, said Saturday he still feels "a little off." Then he went to the mound Sunday afternoon and was nearly perfect in a 9-0 win over the Mets at Citi Field.
Eovaldi retired the first 18 Mets in order before allowing a Brandon Nimmo single to start the seventh inning. Nimmo was the only Met to reach base against Eovaldi, who faced the minimum 21 batters in seven innings before giving way to reliever Andrew Kittredge.
