ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays shortstop Matt Duffy began his injury rehab by playing in a game for the first time on Tuesday night when he joined Class A Advanced Charlotte for its contest in Clearwater, Fla.
"Just getting on the field, I think, was good for Duff," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "Getting some game action. He felt good. ... No hiccups, no limitations, so he's still on schedule to get back out there tomorrow and play."
Duffy is scheduled to play in Port Charlotte on Thursday night.
"I feel good," said Duffy, who was at Tropicana Field prior to Wednesday night's contest between the Rays and Royals.
