ST. PETERSBURG -- Matt Duffy had to leave Monday's contest against the Rangers shortly after reaching third base in the first inning. The Rays have not yet announced the extent of the injury.
After hitting a single to lead off the Rays' first, Duffy stole second and appeared to jam his right knee when his leg hit the bag. He was not able to score on C.J. Cron's single to right. That's when Rays manager Kevin Cash and one of team's trainers paid Duffy a visit.
Duffy was led back to the dugout and Joey Wendle entered the game to pinch-run for Duffy.
