ST. PETERSBURG — The Rays welcomed a pair of familiar faces to Tropicana Field this week. One hometown kid and one former player traveled with the Blue Jays.
Bo Bichette came rolling in on a seven-game hitting streak and left on a 10-game hitting streak after getting base hits in each game of the series. The Lakewood High product and Toronto shortstop went 5-for-12 with four extra-base hits over three games against his hometown Rays.
“It was cool, just sleeping in my own bed, hanging out with a couple of my friends, my mom, my dad and then coming and playing baseball,” Bichette said Wednesday.
