Civale shines, Rays offense stymied by Birds

On a crisp Friday evening in the Charm City, the Rays offense started out hot. Ben Rortvedt drove an Albert Suarez offering the opposite way to left field to plate Richie Palacios. 1-0 Tampa Bay.

Aaron Civale did a great job of mitigating Orioles baserunners, as he would pitch 5.1 innings of one run ball, with that run coming on an Austin Hays RBI single to plate Anthony Santander in the bottom of the fifth frame to tie the score at 1.

In the bottom of the sixth, Baltimore would plate two more Birds as Jorge Mateo doubled to the left-center field gap to score Colton Bowser and Austin Hays.
