The New York Mets have interviewed Tampa Bay Rays Senior Vice President of Baseball Operations, Chaim Bloom, for their open general manager position, per a report from Mike Puma, the Mets beat writer for the New York Post.
Bloom just finished his 14th season with the Rays organization. Since joining the Tampa Bay Rays, Bloom has risen rapidly through the ranks, eventually being promoted in November of 2014 to his current position, in which he shares the general manager duties with GM Erik Neander.
In 2015, Bloom was among the finalist to be the general manager of his hometown team, the Philadelphia Phillies, but ultimately the job went to Mike Klentak.
