ST. PETERSBURG — There were a lot of rookies on the Rays this season, including the oldest one who occupied the manager’s office.
And like the rookie pitchers and outfielders and infielders and catchers, Rays manager Kevin Cash had his moments — some good, some not so good, some questionable.
How did he do?
“For him I think it’s pretty much like a rookie season for any player. You learn as you go,” pitcher Jake Odorizzi said. “I think he did a good job adjusting as the year went on.”
“Just with all the adversity we dealt with, personnel-wise, the injuries, all the transactions that we made, I don’t think he could have done a better job handling it and keeping the guys informed,” third baseman Evan Longoria said.
