Rays
BOSTON -- Evan Longoria hit a pair of home runs and Brad Boxberger picked up his seventh save Tuesday as the Tampa Bay Rays held off the Boston Red Sox 5-3 at Fenway Park.
It was another night where the Rays had plenty of opportunities but stranded too many bases-runners -- 11, including two at third base. They did enough, however to clinch the series victory.
Boxberger got out of a ninth inning jam, stranding two runners.
Longoria’s second home run of the night gave the Rays a 5-3 lead in the ninth.
Logan Forsythe got the Rays on the board in the third inning with a single that scored Brandon Guyer from second base.
