TAMPA — With the Tampa Bay Rays finally granted permission to look for a new home, attention is now shifting toward potential new stadium sites across Tampa Bay.
And on one site in particular.
Tampa Park Apartments, an aging low-income housing project on Nuccio Parkway, ticks many of the boxes Major League Baseball specifies for new ballparks. It’s in the city’s urban core and within striking distance of major roadways such as Interstate 4 and Interstate 275.
Another selling point of the site may be less obvious but no less critical when the cost of a new stadium is tallied.
