Brett injures left shoulder vs. Red Sox

ST. PETERSBURG -- Tampa Bay Rays rookie second baseman Ryan Brett left Tuesday night's 1-0 loss to the Red Sox with a subluxation of his left shoulder after getting picked off by Wade Miley at first base in the bottom of the third.

"He wasn't too comfortable," Rays manager Kevin Cash said. "He was in some pain."

Brett had been fitted with a sling by the time reporters talked to him after the game.

"It's just subluxation," Brett said. "It's just frustrating that it happened my first start. Just going day by day and take it from there.
