TORONTO — Blue Jays rookie Bo Bichette became the first player in the modern era (since 1900) to double in nine consecutive games.
The former Lakewood High standout also homered in his team’s 12-6 loss to the Yankees, giving the 21-year-old an unprecedented 13 extra-base hits in his first 11 career games.
Bichette is the first rookie to have an extra-base hit in nine straight games since Ted Williams in 1939, according to STATS.
