ST. PETERSBURG -- Rays first baseman Ji-Man Choi left Tuesday night's game after a third-inning collision at the plate.
Choi tried to score from first base on Brandon Lowe's bases-loaded double as the Rays looked to eat into an early seven-run deficit, but his attempt came up short.
After getting tagged out by Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez, Choi got to his feet and had blood on the left side of his face.
Jake Bauers took over at first base to start the fourth inning with the Yankees leading, 7-2.
