ST. PETERSBURG -- Jake Bauers connected for his first Major League home run in the fourth inning of the Rays' game against the Blue Jays at Tropicana Field on Monday.
The rookie first baseman already had a double and a walk when he stepped to the plate to face Sam Gaviglio in the fourth inning. When the count reached 1-1, the Blue Jays' right-hander threw a changeup that Bauers re-routed into the right-field stands.
The home run came with a man aboard, giving the Rays a 5-4 lead.
