Baltimore riots could affect Rays-Orioles series

NEW YORK — The Rays are monitoring the situation in Baltimore, where there was more rioting Monday after the funeral for Freddie Gray, who died April 19 while in police custody. A state of emergency was declared and the National Guard was called in to help restore order.

Monday’s game between the Orioles and White Sox was postponed so as not to draw crowds to the Inner Harbor.

The Rays’ weekend series at Camden Yards also could be impacted. The team was scheduled to spend Wednesday night in New York, then take the train on their off day Thursday to Baltimore.
