Archer off target as Orioles shut out Rays in relocated game

ST. PETERSBURG -- With the way Chris Archer pitched since Opening Day, his results Saturday against the Baltimore Orioles were startling.

He allowed runs. Earned runs.

The Tampa Bay Rays right-hander hadn’t done that since the last time he faced the Orioles, and that was during the first game of the season.

Archer, whose performance during his past four starts was “pure dominance” in the words of his manager Kevin Cash, was less than that in the Rays 4-0 loss to the Orioles at Tropicana Field.
