HAVANA -- Playing catch has no borders.
Rays pitcher Chris Archer gave a young fan the thrill of a lifetime with an impromptu game of catch during the Rays' workout at Estadio Latinoamericano.
Wearing a T-shirt and jeans, Archer played catch with Diego Lopez, 9, in foul territory near first base. Lopez was clad in a Rays shirt and Phillies hat. It was shades of the 2008 World Series, but in Havana.
While Archer made a new friend, Rays players were mobbed on the field. James Loney posed for photos. Matt Moore signed autographs, and Cuban native Dayron Varona held a small news conference just off first base.
