ARLINGTON, Texas -- The Rays expected to bounce back from Friday’s tough loss on Saturday night, and why not? Chris Archer was on the mound.
Didn’t happen, though.
The Rangers roughed up Archer, chasing him from the game during a seven-run sixth inning, and rolled to a 12-4 victory.
The loss, the second in as many games on this 10-game road trip, dropped the Rays season record back .500.
What’s more, the Rangers jumped ahead of the Rays in the AL Wild Card standings. The Rays are now tied for fifth in the WC standings with Minnesota.
