ANAHEIM – The long, coast-to-coast road trip shifted west for the Tampa Bay Rays, who arrived at Angel Stadium on Monday to play the surging Los Angeles Angels.
The Rays brought some momentum from Baltimore, where they won the final two games of their weekend series against the Orioles.
Waiting for them, though, was the Angels, who completed a four-game sweep Sunday against visiting Detroit and had won eight of their last 10 games played at the Big A.
The Angels remained hot, hitting four home runs while on their way to a 7-3 victory.
The loss dropped the Rays out of a tie for first place in the American League East with the New York Yankees, winners on Monday in Seattle.
