The Rays rallied from a 4-1 deficit in the bottom of the ninth inning to send a tied game into extra innings. With two runners on and nobody out, Brett Phillips launched the fireworks:
With a 3-1 count, Phillips saw a pitch he could not say no to, sending it 409 feet onto the outfield concourse.
Brian Anderson even said it, “you’re looking for that one pitch in that sweet spot,” and Phillips did just that.
Phillips had every right to admire that one, taking five steps before launching his bat.
