After months of trade speculation, Tampa Bay Rays ace David Price was extremely confident on Wednesday that he wold still be a member of the team past Thursday's 4PM EST non-waiver trade deadline.
However, according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, things have changed mightily in the past several hours:
Been told #Rays are definitely moving Price

Per his appearance on the MLB Network, Sherman indicates that the Oakland Athletics' deal for Boston Red Sox ace Jon Lester opened the market for Price, leading to several teams calling the team's offices with a multitude of trade offers.
If Price is indeed moved, ESPN's Jim Bowden reports that the Los Angeles Dodgers and Seattle Mariners are the front-runners for his services:
#Dodgers #Mariners leaders for Price if he’s traded

Price's value is rumored to be significantly higher than Lester's on the open trade market, seeing that his contract comes with a year of team control in 2015.
All in all, expect some fireworks with the deadline rapidly approaching.
