TAMPA — Fans who attended Tuesday's Lightning-Hurricanes game heard more than their fair share of Chuck Berry's song Johnny B. Goode.
Center Tyler Johnson's goal song, with its signature line Go go, go Johnny go, blared over the loudspeakers not once, not twice, but three times in the Lightning's 4-2 victory over Carolina at Amalie Arena.
Goal Johnny Goal might have been more appropriate as Johnson scored a hat trick.
"I like hearing it," Johnson said. "Hopefully we can hear it a few more times throughout the season."
Go go, go Johnny go played the first time when Johnson scored a shorthanded goal with 7:18 left in the first period off a Mathieu Joseph feed to tie the score at 1.
