Wednesday night in Syracuse, New York was the first time Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy took the ice since vascular surgery kept the young Russian pheonom off the ice for the last two months. Vasilevskiy returned to practice with the Lightning on Monday and was said to have ‘looked sharp in his first time back on the ice in two months. The next step was to send Vasi on a conditioning assignment with the Syracuse Crunch for two or so games to shake some of the rust off after the long lay off.
