The Tampa Bay Lightning has a lot on the line tonight as they make their way into the Barclays Center to take on the New York Islanders in what will kick start their back-to-back series as well as one of the final four games of the season. With a win tonight, the Tampa Bay Lightning could clinch their spot in the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Unfortunately, the Lightning will have to achieve this feat without captain Steven Stamkos.
As most of you know by now, after being evaluated by team physicians after last Thursday night’s game against the Montreal Canadiens it was determined that Steven Stamkos had suffered a condition similar to the one suffered by Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy at the beginning of the season.
