Stamkos prefers to be at center of it all or just winging it

TAMPA — Steven Stamkos has been the center of attention throughout most of this season.

And right in the middle is exactly where he wants to be.

There has been plenty of debate about whether center is his best position or if he is better suited to play on the wing. Primarily a center throughout his career, Stamkos — a two-time Rocket Richard Trophy winner as the NHL’s top goal scorer — was moved to the right wing by head coach Jon Cooper during the playoffs last season.

This season, he has started 22 of 56 games at right wing.
