The Rangers are counting on their Game 7 experience to help them advance to the Stanley Cup finals for the second straight year. New York has won six consecutive Game 7 matchups since 2012, including four at Madison Square Garden.
“Any time you’ve done something before, you definitely feel confident and comfortable in that situation,” Rangers LW Carl Hagelin said. ”We have a lot of great players who have been through this before. You can look around the room and know every single player around you is going to play his best game.”
If Tampa Bay and Chicago advance, the Lightning could become the first team since the 1978-79 Canadiens to win the Cup by beating only Original Six clubs in the postseason.
