ST. PETERSBURG — The owners of Tampa Bay’s three major professional teams came together Monday night to discuss a variety of sports business topics, ranging from the impracticality of building a facility with private funding to the virtues of parity.
Bucs co-owner Bryan Glazer was joined by Lightning owner Jeff Vinik and Rays principal owner Stu Sternberg for a Bay area sports summit arranged by the Poynter Institute.
Newspaper sports editors from around the country, gathered in St. Petersburg for their annual winter session, packed a meeting room as Tampa Bay Times columnist Ernest Hooper and ESPN senior deputy editor Mary Byrne served as moderators.
