Quick Strikes: Lightning recall Danick Martel

As we mentioned in yesterday’s Quick Strikes, the Tampa Bay Lightning have hit some injury trouble, and the Syracuse Crunch have been called to the rescue.

Danick Martel, who was acquired by the Lightning from the Philadelphia Flyers in September, has successfully skated in four conditioning stint games with the AHL Crunch and been recalled by the Lightning. As The Athletic’s Joe Smith says, this was a no-brainer move following the loss of Ondrej Palat due to a day-to-day injury. [NHL dot com]

The 5-foot-8, 162-pound forward has appeared in 203 career AHL games, registering 68 goals and 121 points to go along with 195 penalty minutes.
