Yesterday, the Tampa Bay Lightning placed Danick Martel on waivers. Last season, Martel played a total of nine games with Tampa (earning 2A) and four with the Syracuse Crunch (earning 1A), and signed another two-way contract with the organization in July. Honestly, I doubt anyone picks him up off waivers.
Just recently, Martel spoke to the Tampa Bay Times about his frustration with low ice time, and how he hopes to become more than the 14th skater on the roster. Hopefully he can bring that passion to the Syracuse Crunch.
