One-goal games equal intense Stanley Cup Final

TAMPA — The series is tied 2-2. Each team has nine goals. No one has built a lead larger than one goal – at any point.

Could the Stanley Cup Final be any closer?

As the Lightning and Chicago Blackhawks approach Saturday night’s Game 5 at Amalie Arena, it’s clear the margin for error never has been more miniscule. For the first time since 1968, the Final’s initial four games have been decided by one goal.

“Both teams are here because of the way they handle adversity, the things we’ve been through,’’ Lightning defenseman Matt Carle said.
